For years Noxzema has made terrible cleansing products. These products have wreaked havok on rosacea skin with their cold creams and gels filled with oils, alcohols, menthol, eucalyptus, etc. Just plain bad news for rosacea sufferers.
Their newest product release, Noxzema Blemish Control Foaming Wash, is an absolute hit and should do very well in the rosacea market. They have developed a superb product, but be careful you don't purchase the wrong Noxzema product as the rest of their line will surely aggravate your rosacea. The Blemish Control Foaming cleanser utilizes the latest microfoaming technology to penetrate pores, gently remove dry skin and sebum, and hydrate the skin (and I mean hydrate). (1) They use 1% salicylic acid which is the perfect concentration for rosacea sufferers (1.5% to 3.0% is much too high). (2) They do not use harsh detergents: Instead they use two cleansing derivatives specially formulated for sensitive skin that microfoam to get to the bottom of the pores and work gently on ultrasensitive skin: Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Sodium Methyl 2 Sulfolaurate, (3) They do not use harsh penetration enhancers: They use additional microfoaming ingredients: Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Cocamidopropyl PG Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, (4) They block hard water from sensitive rosacea skin: Disodium EDTA which blocks the irritating actions of calcium in hard water... very important to rosacea skin (5) They have three excellent moisturizers and humectants including high levels of glycerin and buylene glycol. (6) They use newer preservatives at very low concentrations: Not a single paraben in the cleanser! (7) No scrubbers, cloths, beads or harsh rubbing required due to the new microfoam formulation This is a much different cleansing approach, especially for men. You don't need to scrub, the microfoam does all the work and ensures the active ingredients penetrate deep into the pores... In fact, this is the best deep pore cleanser I have ever used. Anyone with clogged pores or dried sebum will notice dramatic improvement and shrinkage of pores after just a few uses. Just pump out the cleanser into your hands and lather (6 to 10 pumps) and lightly spread over entire face and gently wisk over the face for one to two minutes. You may not think you are even cleansing your face because the cleanser does all the work for you. You may apply a couple more pumps for stubborn areas. As with any topical treatment for rosacea, this will not work for everyone, but it delivers the best technology and is one of the best cleansers I've ever used... this should be used for vascular, papulopustular, and seborrheic/acne types. This is a must-try cleanser! Gently clears skin with a hydrated feel Oil Free & Alcohol-Free with Salicylic Acid Formulated for Adult Skin Oil-Free Salicylic Acid Non-comedogenic Added moisturizers Dermatologist Tested Alcohol-Free Clean Blemish Control Foaming Wash, created specially for Adult skin, deep cleans to help treat and prevent blemishes while restoring skin's moisture balance. Skin is left beautifully clear and feeling moisturized. Good Luck _

Ive been using this for about a week now and it has definately helped with my clogged pores due to rosacea. I started off twice a day, but now I think I am going down to once a day bc my cheaks are starting to get a little dry and itchy. I use Jojoba oil with water following the facewash, which is a great moisterizor. Do you recommend a moisturizor for the atopic dermatitis?? To eliminate that griddy rough look?

Love this product guys. I'm not use to the new foam cleansers, but they are suppose to be gentle on the skin because they don't need to add foam enhancers and the microfoam penetrates deep into the pores, so that might be why they only need 1% salicylic acid.
My pores are clear and much smaller. My rosacea skin is much less sensitive. Thanks for the heads up. Jenny T. |

Thanks for this recommendation Dr. Nase. I would have never tried Noxema because most of their skin care products are terrible triggers for rosacea sufferers with their alcohol and heavy doses of menthol and mineral oil. They did a superb job with this foaming cleanser. Im a bar soap kind of guy, so this is new to me. The foam is nice and thick and it cleans deep. I mean deep. My pores have never felt so clean. A great secondary effect is that once the pores are clear they sometimes shrink because the sebum is not clogging the canals. Definitely worth a try for male and female rosacea sufferers. Especially suited for sensitive skin in my opinion. |
