Thumbs up Endothelin-1 constrictor for rosacea treatment

We could see a new form of treatment within the next 9 to 12 months. It consists of microinjections of a moderate-level constrictor called endothelin-1. Research and clinical studies have already begun and preliminary results indicate that it might be an excellent treatment modality for those with chronic facial redness and severe flushing.

The microinjections would focus on the superficial vessels and the vessels in the mid-dermis. They would consist of a series of injections into the affected area once a week for 8 to 12 weeks. This would help break the inflammatory cycle, allow the vessels to regain normal tone, normalize vascular hyper-reactivity.... without causing rebound dilation. The concentration of endothelin-1 and the depth of delivery are the key variables to success.

Physiologists and Pharmacologists use Endothelin-1 routinely to stabilize blood vessels, skin inflammation, and inflammatory enzymes. The microinjectors are automatic and treatments of the central face would take less than 10 minutes.

Most Advanced Micro-Injector for Dermatology: Drug Delivery System

Follow the link below to watch a short video on the new micro-injectors (Nanotechnology) being used in dermatology to deliver medications without pain or bleeding, AND with great precision. Fascinating stuff.

Nanocyte Micro-Injector Advantages:

Immediate active delivery
Once NanoCyte's micro-injectors are applied on the skin, the desired compound is actively delivered through the stratum corneum, into the epidermis; all in a matter of seconds. Sustained delivery is accomplished as long as the micro-injectors are not brushed off the skin for up to several hours.

User friendly - no need for professional treatment
NanoCyte micro-injectors, applied on the skin as a topical cream, gel or spray, can be utilized by the consumer without the need for occlusion or professional guidance.

Versatile - no limitation for application surface area
The NanoCyte technology, formulated as a cream, gel or spray, can be applied to virtually any surface area - large or small.

Device - less application
NanoCyte micro-injectors, kept as a powder, have been shown to maintain their inherent ability to generate an internal pressure of 150 atmospheres, leading to an injection acceleration of 40,000g, independent of any electronic, RF, or other power source.

Painless administrationNanoCyte's micro-injectors are less than 1 micron in width; the injectors penetrate the skin with no sensation at all (shown in several clinical studies).

Efficient delivery
NanoCyte's technology is compatible with a broad range of compounds as well as nucleic acids, peptides and proteins.

Straightforward regulatory path
NanoCyte's technology has been classified as a novel functional excipient.

Proven Efficacy for Dermatological Drug Delivery:

NanoCyte has demonstrated delivery of various compounds for local and systemic indications. Examples of tested compounds:

Cosmetics:
Vitamin C - Anti oxidation - skin aging
Vitamin B3 - Moisturizing and anti inflammatory
Caffeine - Cellulite treatment Anti aging peptides

Systemic Indications:
Insulin - Diabetes
Nicotine - Smoking
Scopolamine - Motion sickness
Desmopressin - Nocturnal enuresis in children and diabetes insidipus

Dermatology: Lidocaine - Local anesthesia
Methotrexate - Psoriasis
5 Fluorouracil - Skin Cancer
Hydroquinone - Pigment treatment
Dyphenhydramine - Anti-histamine
Salicylic acid - Acne

Local pain:
Ketorolac, Aspirin - Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID) for rheumatoid arthritis and moderate, acute pain
Glucosamine - rheumatoid arthritis

I've seen these microinjectors at a University Dermatology office being used for acne patients. We need to make a push for use in the rosacea field.

Yes, they are using these microinjectors at Medical Universities in order to publish. They are non-invasive and deliver just enough drug to constrict blood vessels safely and break up the inflammatory cycle.

You will also note that the NRS is now active in this area.
