Default Boost immunity or Suppress it for Rosacea?

Most treatments are designed to boost immunity for better health. However, everything I read about rosacea indicates our immune system is defective or overactive. Does anyone use immune stimulants and notice any difference one way or another?

How about when you are sick? Should we use immune stimulants for short periods of time?

Excellent question. The answers are only theoretical, but you dont want to boost neutrophils or macrophages as these are destructive forces to rosacea sufferers. You can boost other cell types, but rosacea is a neutrophilic disorder so stay away from those "shrooms" that boost neutrophils, macrophages or phagocytes.

Short term for colds may be good but excessive doses for more than a couple weeks may exacerbate rosacea... and here you thought it was from the cold symptoms.

Sometimes a short pulse treatment with topical hydrocortisone can completely stop the immune inflammatory response... but you must be cautious.

Dont use prescription strength. No higher than 1% hydrocortisone.

In general, never use it for more than 3 days in a row unless the inflammation is severe - then 7 days should be the max.

Used correctly, topical hydrocortisone can be a rosacea sufferers best friend, but only for short, acute bouts.

How about orally with Echinacea or mushroom extract (Reishi)? Have you had any feedback on these?
