Talking New treatment on Horizon? EGF, FGF and 0.75% Solublized Hydrocortisone

New Rosacea Treatment on Horizon? EGF, FGF and Solubilzed 0.75% Hydrocortisone.

Preliminary testing begain several months ago in Chicago on a new topical treatment for rosacea redness, blotchiness, neural burning and skin thickness.

Dermatologists are using a new form of hydrocortisone (solubilized into a pure liquid form at 0.75%). This enhances penetration depth and reduces the well-documented rosacea rebound phenomenon. They are also adding two bio-identical proteins to thicken skin to ensure steroid-induced thinning does not occur. Epidermal Growth Factor and Fibroblast Growth Factor-4 (new bio-identical forms that are used by the body naturally) increase skin growth by up to 8% which would cancel out any potential thinning and actually thicken rosacea skin.

If the preliminary studies prove successful and without side effects this treatment should advance to clinical trials. This holds exciting potential and was developed to use once daily as a treatment lotion.
