A new formulation of oral clonidine has been released that allows the drug to work nearly all day (instead of three pills per day with the old version) and seems to have better efficacy on facial redness and flushing.
Clonidine is one of the few prescriptions that causes a mild, but safe constriction of blood vessels and, over time, helps to normalize blood vessel receptors to hormonal and chemical triggers. Definitely a drug to discuss with your physician... but remember to add the term "subpressor" so that your physician knows that you want to take this at a concentration that does not affect blood pressure or heart rate. __
