My derm is from the old school and wants to put a needle in my skin. I've read there are far too many side effects. For broken blood vessels, do people recommend the pulse dye laser or photoderm. Thanks.

When I first went to my current dermatologist, she told me I had more broken blood vessels than anyone she had ever treated, and she is not that young. In the beginning, we used the needle and solution, and that did not work. The pulsed dye laser worked well on all the little vessels, but I had to have at least three to four treatments, if I can remember. That really did make a difference.

Drillo, Glad to hear you found the proper treatment for your broken blood vessels. If they are structurally broken then laser treatment is the best option. I know people do get results with the needle cautery, but the chance of scarring is quite high. The pulsed dye laser, more specifically the long pulse V-beam is an excellent laser for this symptom. The 1064 YAG laser is also very good for treatment, followed by the IPL. As you pointed out, several treatments may be required for permanent removal. _

Camille, Broken blood vessels that can be visibly seen by the naked eye are best treated with lasers/IPL at a wavelength of 590 nm or 560 nm (for the superficial blood vessels right under the epidermis). Often times patients seen best results with a double pass treatment that includes both wavelengths to treat broken blood vessels and different depth. _

For small to moderate size blood vessels, i've found that Rosadyn is the single best treatment for vessel removal/repair. All those tiny little spider like blood vessels respond very well to the sulforaphane in Dr. Nase's product.
For large red vessels or blue vessels. laser treatment is the best way to go. Hope that helps. Seth |

"Does vitamin K help with the little blood vessels" Jim
Jim, Even the 8% Vitamin K creams are minimally effetive. They do not help with the red blood vessels at all... but they may have minimal positive actions on blue venules.
