Hello to all,
Glad to have found this forum. According to a Derm, my rosacea was most likely brought on by sun damage years ago (I was a solar-irresponsible outdoorsman ). SO stupid, I know. I am now paying the price. I hope you still have mercy on me !Like many, I have done my homework and try to do my best with diet/exercise/triggers/experimentation etc. In the past year my rosacea has come on stronger, with lots more papules/pustules which of course aggrevate the redness. I have found Raspex spf 30 skin gel (ellagic acid based) to work wonders at reducing my redness and healing scars. Although, it may clog my pores a bit...another trade-off... My questions: Is there a different course of treatment for solar-induced rosaceans? Any good non-scip topicals for healing/reducing papules/pustules? Any recommended cleansers for reduction of P/P? -I have been on antibiotics....they lost effectiveness -Been on the Metrogel/cream....they burn (I am very fair-skined) -I HAVE BEEN ON ROSADYN FOR 2 MONTHS AND FEEL LIKE IT IS STARTING TO WORK!...less redness and my skin is starting to feel more moisturized. I am now up to 6 pills a day, and will stay here for many more months and remain hopeful. But in the meantime... My main struggle are these mutated pimple-like creatures which stay for a while, then remain red (scar) for months. Most recently, I have found spot-treating with Calamine lotion to be very effective if used at the first sign of these bumps. If they get out of control...run their course...then 'deflate' and are healing I usually use Neosporin for a couple nights, to keep them clean. BUT, Sometimes while they are 'healing' (or even weeks after) they erupt again into bloody-red soft bumps. A viscious cycle indeed. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks |
