Default Ocean Water

Dr Nase,

Do you know of any minerals in ocean water that helps in rosacea? I was recently at the beach for a couple of days and my face seems to improve while going for daily swims. I either went early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the strong sun exposure through the middle of the day.

Thanks
Matt

I did find this product a couple of years ago and it has minerals from the ocean which is made into a cream. The website is:

Control Rosacea the Natural Way

I would be interested in what Dr Nase's opinion would be regarding this. I haven't tried this product.

Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,

Love the ocean!!! The primary active mineral in ocean water is sodium chloride (not table salt, but micronized sea salt which penetrate the skin and pores). Sea salt is one of the best natural ways of gently cleansing your face while you are swimming or soaking.

Sea salt also has anti-inflammatory actions and reduces inflammatory outbreaks by mild drying actions. If you can safely combine this with sun, most people get surprisingly better.

Dr Nase,

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if you have come across the above product which was developed by a marine scientist/former rosacea sufferer to help with rosacea. It was created with minerals from the ocean I believe. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone else reading this forum has tried the product, did it help?

Thanks
Matt
